lyrics
Every night I am praying
But there's no one to answer my call
And I know, I can't keep waiting
If I do, I am sure that I'll fall
Yet it's hard to believe I let centuries pass
Without getting a message from you
Now I'm stuck in this world made of envy and steel
I feel so alone without you
But you know, every empire falls
And makes way for a new dawn at lasst
And each time I am hoping that you
Will just rise from its ashes and shine
Oh Lord please forgive me the times I have cursed
For letting me rot in this hell
I have stopped to believe that your mercy is real
Why can't you just lift this spell?
Just when everything is burning and lightning fills the sky
I see you again in my dreams
I know why I am waiting and I can carry on
A thousand years since you've been gone
If Elric had a soundtrack it would be this. It's everything you want from a epic metal album. Like a hot poker in the eye, but in a good way. Scott Malthouse
So I can't leave a long enough review to say everything I want. But I will say this, I love this EP. It's a great little follow up to times, and has just enough of a dynamic shift in sound to prove that Smoulder isn't a one trick pony with their first album's formula. This one really plays up the 70s prog aspects (DUST and Manilla Road influences definitely shine through even harder here). It's still Smoulder, don't get me wrong. Just a different side in some ways, all of which are good. playfulpooka
